Hello,

I've come across an unusual issue involving the mouse gene Atp5if1. When this gene is identified from my datasets, instead of being identified from my FASTA file like so:

it is output by TopPIC like this:

Essentially, the mouse gene Atp5if1 is output as the human equivalent (all capital letters). This is the only gene that has this problem. Seems to be related to including TrEMBL entries but I'm not sure why TopPIC changes the gene to all caps.

Thanks,

James

Hi James,

Could you send us the dataset you used? I did a quick test using a mouse fasta file but I didn't have the same problem.

Thanks,

We investigated into this issue, and it turned out that the gene was somehow incorrectly annotated in the input FASTA file (it was already capitalized in the FASTA file).
