Some people- especially people who have commissioned rugs for me (ugly
abstract rug.jpg was made for an artist of mine who loves the
dissonance of modern classical music and wanted a visual
representation) or purchased them (so far one- pp rug finished.jpg)-
want rugs with colors which will coordinate with a particular room or
their personal style.
The easiest way to do it is to collect together clothes of colors
which would go well together if worn. You can do bands of colors,
repeating patterns (my mother's favorite), or even freestyle abstract
(pp rug finished was my masterwork of this style.) You can't loose-
if they looked good worn, they'll look good in a rug!
Pantyhose (unless you are or are getting them from a "wild child") are
pretty can't fail too. All the tones and colors work well together
(but again, remember, they require the most attention to tension of
any source mat'l.)
