Yes, still stitchin' / Where do you get free fabric

I've not forgotten about this project, just had such a series of
urgencies that... you know how it goes.

Over Easter I went home and my friends almost blessed me to death with
50 - 60 pounds of mat'l for rugs, and yes, that's after buttons,
zippers, collars, etc. are removed!

But eventually, especially if I sell more of these, I'll have to get
more, so since I know anyone who comes here is a crafty type in some
way, are there any places which give away discarded clothes or fabric
scraps? If not, what's the cheapest way to get it?

I can and especially love to work with hosiery too (it makes visually
and tactilely STUNNING rugs!) so sources of that are good too. After
all, Halloween and Mardi gras only come once a year each, and my wife
has cuban seams tat'ed to her legs so she doesn't wear hose.
