Call For Participation!
ToorCamp is finally on this year and we're super excited to have you all back! This year is going to be ridiculously amazing. We're limited to 700 attendees and we've been sold out for a while now! It's looking to be an amazing time of year at the end of June, just a couple months away, so dust off all your deerpunk gear, nightmarkt warez, and research you've been dying to share, and let us know how you'd like to participate in making this event even better than the last!
Call for Papers!
If you have something you'd like to present, have a workshop idea, or want to perform music at the event, please
submit it ASAP! Our first round of CFP has recently closed, so now your last chance to submit ends May 4th!
Self Organized Sessions!
This year, we're continuing the CCC style of organizing workshops using the "Self-Organized Session" model in addition to our scheduled workshops through the CFP. We'll be providing a few venues for any sessions you'd like to organize. In addition, villages can also offer up their space and advertise sessions they're organizing on the wiki. If you want to organize any type of session, head over to the wiki and
submit your self-organized session today!
Villages!
We've just opened up registration for villages this year and have made it super simple to
create a wiki page for your village. Make sure to get your village submitted soon, so we can ensure your requests are fulfilled and email
spac...@toorcon.org if you have any questions or specific requests. Also, join our
discord to coordinate with the other villages, especially Beerocracy & Shadytel, since we’ll be doing a village passport book again this year.
Ferry Reservations Opening April 10th!
If you're driving out to ToorCamp, don't forget to book your ferry reservation to Orcas Island! Reservations will be opening next Tuesday, April 10th at 10AM PDT and can be made through the
Washington State Ferry Vehicle Reservation System. If for some reason you miss out then, more reservations will be released 2 weeks and 2 days before sailing.
Anything but Ethernet!
After twenty years, Toorcamp is bringing back the most legendary hacker conference contest of all time! Invented by Nate Bezanson at Notacon 2 in Cleveland in 2005, this game is the ultimate test of hacker ingenuity:
https://wiki.toorcamp.org/AnythingButEthernetThe LOL: Call for Oscilloscopes & Village Ads!
ToorCamp's own radio station(s) the LOL is back this year and featuring a radio wave dedicated to Oscilloscope Music, so make sure to bring your old analog Oscilloscopes that support X/Y mode so you can tune in! Also, if your village would like some free advertising, they're currently accepting short clips to add to their regularly scheduled programming -- reach out to them at #953-the-lol-radio on
discord.
Art Grants!
Once again, we’re offering our art grant program. If you have an idea for a project you think would really enhance the camp, but need some funds to make it a reality, hit us up at
artg...@toorcon.org and we’ll see how we can help!
Sponsorship!
Most of our sponsorship opportunities have been booked, but we can always use extra funds and goodies to help make the event even better for our attendees; so, if you’re interested in sponsoring, please reach out to us at
spo...@toorcon.org.
Communication!
The official means of communication for camp this year is our
discord. If you have questions or want to coordinate with others around the event, please check it out!
Refunds!
We totally understand if you aren’t able to make it out to the best event of the summer and would rather experience mad FOMO instead. If so, please let us know and we’ll be more than happy to issue you a full refund for your ticket. Many people are waiting for tickets to become available, so please return your ticket as early as possible, if you need a refund, so that we can make sure someone else can attend.
Thank You!
We are SO grateful to all of you for being so patient. We truly miss you all and look forward to reconnecting over s’mores, tiki drinks, and drone tacos in just 2 months! Happy hacking and we’ll see you soon!
