Hey gang,

Thanks to all for a wicked week in Washington.
On either Thursday or Friday I heard some folks in maybe Noisebridge or the Calgary camp talk about someone arranging for a satellite to take a photo of the site while we were there. Since Google whited-out the missile silo area from space in GoogleMaps photos of the site, I assume this was either an uproarious joke which i gullibly  believed or one of you has serious satellite hook-ups.
Either way, i mentioned this to a friend at work who promptly said, "yeah right, i'll believe it when i see it."

So, did anyone arrange for a sat photo of the general toor camp site while we were there? If so, can i see the pics?

Risking embarrassment,
Alison,
(from the Calgary camp who got heat stroke on Thursay. Thanks to everyone to kept me from dying in the desert)

It doesn't seem unlikely that someone would have those kind of
connections.

Even if nobody did, any geek with around $10K lying around could
launch their own satellite cable of taking such a photo.

With enough notice, I'm sure you could even order one for less money
from one of the several companies already taking earth photos.

If someone was able to arrange for that photo, they should definitely
post it. I'd like to see it too.

Or you can settle for pics via the LEOTWPS (Low Earth Orbit Tethered
Wind Powered Satellite) from Bre Pettis:
