If there isn't enough space to download and install an update, the software on your device will try to make space. It will remove only app data that it can download again and doesn't remove or relocate any of your data. If your device still doesn't have enough space, you can use your computer to update your device.
Recently I installed iPadOS public beta and bought an external third party keyboard. The spacebar of the keyboard does not work properly on some applications including the native email app. When I clicked on the spacebar, it inputs newline instead of space. Also, I noticed I can input space by clicking on shift+spacebar or alt+spacebar.
And a bit more, you can just clear the shortcut for Spacebar under the "full keyboard access>>Commands" (it was set as act of Activate by default), don't need to disable the full function in case you need other shortcut to control the ipad.
My son entered the wrong password to many times and now the ipad is blocked, it shows only a message...iPad is disabled connect to iTunes. I'm connected now to iTunes and the iPad is connected to the computer but don't know what to do next...
Everytime i plugged the ipad pop up msg says "if you don't allow to access, you will not able to manage or sync ipad on this computer" if i click ok another pop up massage says "to allow access respond on your ipad" this is the problem that im facing with. please any body :c
The type of computer doesn't matter. The version of iTunes that you have installed on the PC should be shown in Help > About iTunes ; the current version is 12.5.5 (Get the latest version of iTunes - Apple Support or )
I already updated my itunes since yesterday but donno what version it is, i'll check it later i'd followed step doing recovery mode but like i said everytime i plugged the ipad those two pop up massages appears immediately and i can,t respond on the ipad cause is disabled
Hi King_Penguin Ive tried the recovery mode several times and it's still not going to the recovery mode screen. I'm holding the two buttons down even after the logo pops up like instructed and i hold it for a few more seconds maybe half a minute to a minute and it brings me back to the lock screen where it says ipad is disable connect to itunes i have installed itunes on my computer and have the latest version. I'm not sure what else to do
If your computer's iTunes isn't recognising that it's in recovery mode (it does recognised the iPad ?) it sounds like you haven't successfully got it into recovery mode. Have you got access to a second computer that you could try with, or is there an Apple Store or authorised repairer that you could try ?
Hi my ipad air is disabled and i have my apple computer but i dont know how to connect my ipad to it, i've put the USB charger in to the computer but it just say do you want this device to connect then i pressed yes then it has like a loading thing going and it says on top (to allow access, pleases respond on your ipad but i cant
I Have changed my password on all my apples devices, and although on my phone "send and receive messages" does have my phone number listed, my iPads do not. It does not give me the option. To add a phone number, it just lists two email addresses.
This is a head scratcher. Since the last update (13.4) sometimes when I receive a call it is only ringing on my iPad. I have to answer there on speaker, and it does not give me the option to transfer to my phone. I have restarted all devices and that still did not work.
The call is not showing up on my iPhone or Mac at all. I am able to call out normally and most calls do come to my phone. But a few times, it has only gone to my iPad. The iPhone does not even show the green bubble in the upper left corner to let me transfer the call.
I contacted Apple support about this and their suggestion to upgrade to the newest IOS version - 10.3.1 - which I did and to uninstall/ reinstall those particular apps; did not resolve the issue. I tried numerous other things like de-selecting the 'Access within Apps' (Control Centre) and doing a mini-reboot by pressing the home and sleep button together. This didn't work. A number of posts have referred to a method involving the Orientation Lock and Mute button; I couldn't seem to find this on my Ipad. Either way, I found the solution that worked for my Ipad, you basically have to Reset All Settings, don't worry this does not erase any of your data. You'll just have to re-enter your Wifi password after it reboots. I hope this works for you too:
The posted "Official" fix does not work after switching apps. If you've lost sound in app and games but not in music or headphones, then try this. Close all current apps, go to settings, control center and turn off "Access Within Apps". Then do a soft reset with the home and sleep button. Your audio/external speakers will now work in apps. Apple broke the audio controller (pause/play/forward/back/volume) in the Control Center with their 7.1.1 update.
In case you're wondering why things are so klutzy, here is the history. Originally, the mechanical switch affected only the rotation lock and the mute was a software switch elsewhere. In IOS-3, it was changed to be the mute switch and the rotation lock became a software switch. This was done to ensure consistency among IOS devices. Unfortunately, a large quantity of users complained loudly, alleging that they turned the rotation lock on and off several times every hour and the convenience of the mechanical switch is essential. In IOS-4, Apple bowed to the whiners and made the switch function selectable and now we're stuck with a mess.
Keep telling the users to unmute or reset or restore. Cause I can tell you right now that solution doesn't work consistently. But it did for me after I added turning off the control centers access within apps to the process. It is related, heck, maybe it's even a new 7.1.1 bug! I wouldn't have taken the time to make this account if I didn't know it was a part of the puzzle.
I have a brand new iPad Air 4th generation. It does not have a home button so in order to shut it down you have to press either the up or down volume button and hold while pressing and holding the power button so the slider comes up in order to shut down the iPad. This doesn't work, but you can do a forced shutdown by quickly pressing and releasing the up volume, down volume buttons and then holding down the power button. The slide come up and you can shut down the iPad. I believe my iPad is defective. Can someone offer an observation on my situation.
Nothing happens. I discovered that you have to go to settings, general and scroll down to shut down and press that. I was told by an employee of Best Buy that it seems Apple wants these to be kept on all of the time. I tried holding down the power button and one of the volume buttons, as suggested on line, to no avail. This is a brand new machine and it seems Apple has failed to address this situation, or doesn't require the iPad to be shut down in most cases. I have an answer and will go with it. Thanks for your response.
I'm running the latest IOS 14.3 version and I have the same issue with my new iPad Air 4, the slide bar does not appear when holding down the top button. It does appear after tapping "Shut Down" under Settings/General menu and that's how I can power off this new model. Maybe Apple will "fix" it in IOS 15.x version.
Yesterday my ipad died, I placed it on charge and a few hours later i noticed it still hadnt turned on so i used another 3 different chords. The ipad has been charging for more than 24 hours and over night. Around every 10-20 seconds the apple logo appears as if it's about to turn on but then the screen goes back to the black screen and sometimes the charging symbol appears. I've tried to reboot it many times by holding down the lock and home button and the apple logo appears but nothing else happens. if i unplug the ipad it shows the symbol of it needing to be charged so i know that the chords are working. i've had my ipad for over a year and nothing like this has happened before. someone please help me? ta x
I've connected it to my computer and tried recovery. I held down the home button as i plugged it in and connect to itunes came up so i opened itunes and chose to restore the ipad and then the computer lost cmonnection with the ipad and now the apple logo wont even sohow up when i plug it in, any other things i could do??
i shutdown my ipad and when i press the power button to turn it on again the apple logo appear and after 5 sec the logo disappear again then get to black screen
i have connected it to my pc and click on restore & update to 7.1.2 when finish nothing happend ! it still stuck :(
I have literally gone insane trying to fix this problem and as stupid as it sounds it has to do with setting the clock and date accurately (or on automatic) and it works perfectly. Trust me I have gone back and forth on different forums to try and fix this problem and I was at my wits end and tried this stupid direction and my ipad now connects to the apps like magic! Hope this helps.
