I have purchased this phone this week and I cannot see smart view nowhere. Some other people had the same issue as I have seen on internet. I also heard that the previous A series had smart view but why not on this device? I am going to refund it back to the store if there is no smart view because I use it a lot in my daily life.

Once a device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as a Smart TV, consumers can immediately use the Smart View service simply by choosing which TV set to connect with. At the push of a button, this intuitive, newly designed app can instantly transfer content stored on mobile devices and PCs to TVs. Consumers can also use multiple functions simultaneously, and access other apps on their mobile devices without affecting the sharing function. For example, consumers can browse the internet on their smartphone, while watching a movie via Smart View on their Samsung Smart TV.

Consumers can install the updated Samsung Smart View app on their mobile device from the Google Play, App Store and also onto their Windows PC** by visiting www.samsung.com/smartview. Once installed, users can enjoy a range of Smart View features, including the ability to create playlists for music, video and photos, easily switch between these content types and instantly share content with any Samsung Smart TV on the same Wi-Fi network.

For more information on the Samsung Smart TV lineup, Samsung Smart View application or upcoming announcements, visit the official website at www.samsung.com/smartview and Samsung Newsroom at news.samsung.com.

I've always loved the ease of use of having a video/picture file i wish to stream using the my local network using the play content feature instead of mirroring screen. The quality is often better and I can utilise the smart TV or console remote for playback.

see photo...it use to show up there. but now even though the TV's on and visible on the network it doesn't find it. when I go to mirror screen option on the LG TV it doesn't show up there either, but will when I go to play a video and select the smart view, but still only getting the option to mirror screen.

Seems smart view does something that overides everything fir power saving. Even activating always on in developer options doesnt do the trick.
Several of the stock alway on apps out there have no effect either.

I had an Android (Samsung Galaxy) smartphone with AT&T providing the carrier service. Because AT&T owns DIRECTV, they allow unlimited streaming on their DIRECTV app using AT&T's cellular network data that does not affect your normal internet or hotspot data limits like it would for, say, Netflix.

Back in 2020, Samsung removed the Smart View app that allowed users to turn their smartphones into remotes for Samsung TVs. In place of the app's absence, Samsung didn't leave device owners without another option. Samsung's SmartThings app can do many of the same things, including acting as a remote for a TV and a master control point for an entire smart home.

SmartThings is a software development company owned by Samsung that works to connect all smart devices in the home. The SmartThings app, like the Smart View app, works as a controller for Samsung TVs. However, it does much more than that as it can also control other compatible devices as well. Therein is arguably the biggest difference between the two apps. While Smart View worked with TVs, SmartThings works with the whole smart home.

The SmartThings app can control multiple devices, but in order to do so, users must have a SmartThings hub (or a 'brain') to wirelessly connect all their smart devices together. Users can get a smart hub, Wi-Fi router, or even a security hub to do this. Once set up, users can link their devices together through the hub or link them through the app itself. In order to add devices to the SmartThings app, open it and tap the '+' sign in the top-right corner. Users can also connect to many devices and organize them by room, and once connected, the user will be able to make many on-demand changes to the device (such as adjusting the temperature of a thermostat or turning lights on or off).

A quick Google search for 'Samsung Smart View' displays a Samsung web page as the first result. The website can be a bit misleading, since it shows how to broadcast content with Smart View from a smartphone or laptop to a Samsung smart TV. There are even links to the Smart View app on the Galaxy Store, Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Windows. Clicking on the links, however, reveals that the apps have been taken down. Essentially, this is an old website, and the Smart View app doesn't exist anymore. Samsung should have taken the web page down, but since it hasn't, don't be confused into thinking that the app is still available.

There are other results that show up in Google search, including a Samsung Smart View - Cast To app, but this isn't made by Samsung, and according to the reviews, it doesn't work very well. A similar app called Smart View - Cast Device To TV is listed on the Apple App Store, but this one too isn't made by Samsung. In conclusion, those who want the functionality of Samsung Smart View will need to download the SmartThings app.

Users can choose from connected refrigerators, washing machines, microwaves, ovens, robot vacuums, dishwashers, air conditioners, and other home appliances that work with SmartThings, and control them all with a single app. Samsung has also introduced the SmartThings Station, a hub which can connect and control all these devices and others, like smart lights, thermostats, power outlets and more. The SmartThings Station has a Smart Button which can start up to three routines with single, double, or long press action. Additionally, Samsung's smart home hub even doubles up as a wireless charging pad.

There are different ways to mirror your smartphone onto your TV, ranging from HDMI to Chromecast to Miracast. If you've got a Samsung Galaxy device, the easiest way to do this is by using the Smart View feature.

It'll let you do everything from playing YouTube music videos to viewing files on the big screen. If you have a ton of images on your phone, you can even show them off! It can be useful for those who own smart TVs or are looking for alternative ways to display their content. We'll walk you through how to set up and use Smart View.

Using a smart TV instead of a small device display will give you an enhanced viewing experience. You can also use it as an additional monitor of sorts. The Smart View feature is now designed to primarily work with Samsung smart TVs, but it might still work with other brands that support the Miracast standard, such as LG, Sharp, Philips, Sony, and more.

Once you've confirmed that these settings are in place, open Smart View on your mobile device and select the smart TV you want to mirror to, from the list of available devices. Your phone's screen will then be mirrored to your TV's screen. Let's take a closer look at some of the ways you can do this.

The SmartThings app has built-in support for Samsung's recent lineup of smart TVs (2017 and later), which allows you to stream content from your phone directly to your TV, while offering a variety of useful features for other connected devices in your home, such as controlling lights or opening doors.

Your smart TV must be compatible with the Smart View feature. To check if your TV supports screen mirroring, you can either look up the user manual that came with your TV or conduct an online search for its model number (where available) and information about compatible devices or features.

Samsung Smart View is the perfect app to install on your Samsung smartphone and use to control any TV from this Korean brand in an intuitive way. With this app, you can control what you watch on your TV without interrupting the playback.

Samsung Smart View's interface is pretty simple, designed so you never lose sight of whatever you're watching at that moment. All you have to do is connect your TV and smartphone to the same network. After that, you're ready to start controlling playback.

One of the highlights of Samsung Smart View is the ability to use other apps on your smartphone without interrupting what you're watching. You can also watch anything you want on your TV simply by tapping the thumbnail.

This technology is built in to most newer Samsung smart TVs. However, your phone or tablet must be connected to the same network as your TV in order to use this function. If Smart View is not working, restarting or rebooting your device will usually solve the issue.(copy/paste from the link below)

To activate the feature, navigate to Settings Connected Devices Smart View and tap the three-dot icon on the top right corner of the screen to access Settings. Now, you can see the Labs section, and tapping it reveals the Chromecast Support option you need to enable. Once you allow Chromecast support in the Smart View Labs section, you can see all Chromecast/Google Cast-compatible audio-video devices on the network, and you can mirror your phone's screen on those displays or simply cast media view Smart View.
