See if the issue is resolved. If it isn't, then it sounds like the phone may be damaged.</div><div></div><div></div><div>If it is resolved, erase it again, and then restore it from the backup you made and see if the problem returns. If it doesn't, then you are all set. If it does, then you have a corrupted backup, and you will need to erase it again, and set it up as a new device (not from the backup).</div><div></div><div></div><div>I got an old iphone 4 and it s not possible to update ios to the latest version or the precious ones, fon t ask me why ,but that says itunes... When I open my phone. apps open on their own, Ive watched my mail open itself and delete emails when I wasn't holding the phone. How can i fix this? is this a virus? or am i hacked? HELPPPPPP</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>I have a iPhone 5s which is about 4 years old now. Recently I have started to experience some battery issues . The issues includes problems like mass battery drain and overheating. So I wanted to check if I have exceeded the amount of batt cycles recommended. How can I do that?</div><div></div><div></div><div>For the most accurate test, schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar and they can run diagnostics on your phone for you. Should it be determined a new battery is recommended the price to replace one on the 5s is $79.</div><div></div><div></div><div>I chatted with Apple about my iPhone issue just a moment ago, and asked about yours too. The tech said the folks at any Apple store can plug in any iPhone to a handheld device and do a battery check for free. Many independent Mac fix-it stores will do the same thing, and you can probably get the same help at Best Buy, and maybe even Office Depot, if there aren't any Apple stores close to you. If you don't have any of those big-box stores close to you either, try to make sure the indy fix-it shop is Apple certified. You might pay a little more, but in the end, it could be useful if things continue to go south with your iPhone.</div><div></div><div></div><div>As for my issue, I might be S.O.L. at this point. I was considering getting a new phone this year, but I wasn't expecting to have to do it now! ? I need to replace my 2011 laptop and I need a car now too. That old saying sure holds true for me... when it rains, it pours! Guess I'll have to sell some Apple stock to pay for new Apple tech. ?</div><div></div><div></div><div>The old school method of charging a battery does NOT apply to Lithium Ion batteries. You can charge them anytime you want as they do not have memory. There is no need to wait till they are at 40%. And it's actually very BAD for them to drain them completely. Batteries degrade over time and in an older phone, it is likely a new battery will be a good thing.</div><div></div><div></div><div>I haven't read about topping up a Lithium iON battery, so I'm certainly not qualified to comment on that. I can tell you since Apple first introduced Battery Health as a measure of performance, my batteries have shown 100% performance, even with frequent top offs. My iPhone X, now retired as I just got XS Max, after a year of top offs, was still showing 100%.</div><div></div><div></div><div>If you have a valid Apple Care Plus warranty on your phone, you can call 1-800-MY-APPLE and they'll run diagnostics over the air for you. If you don't have a valid plan, they may want to charge for this. Best to give them a call and ask.</div><div></div><div></div><div>But, I wouldn't do it this weekend. Yesterday was new Apple iPhone Launch Day. Apple Customer Support is overwhelmed with people having issues activating or transitioning from a previous phone. Let the onslaught of new phone issues die down a bit. For example, I need to cancel and get a refund for the unused portion of AppleCare+ for my iPhone X and purchase a new plan for my XS Max. I was on hold for two hours to get a live person on the phone.</div><div></div><div></div><div>I'm well aware of that letter. It does not say anything about topping off a lithium ion battery. It was specifically put out when people learned their older phones were being throttled to prevent shutdowns after iOS 11 was introduced. iOS 11 is the first iOS version to be totally 64 bit architecture. For older phone with less RAM, it was taxing them. This is why for iPhone 6 and higher, through the end of this year, Apple is replacing batteries for $29 (no questions asked about battery health) when the normal price is $79.</div><div></div><div></div><div>I have 60 gb of data on my plan and I run out every month. I have tried to check my data usage on carrier mobile app to see where it is getting eaten up but my account does not show any record of any Data usage.... the only usage that shows is SMS for text messages and calls. I use mobile data most of the time so I am unsure where my Data is going?</div><div></div><div></div><div>To see where cellular data is being used, go to Settings> then scroll down slightly to the heading Cellular Date. It will list all of your applications after showing the Current Period of data usage. Understand, that is cumulative and may not necessarily show your current billing period. You have to reset that manually with a link to Reset Statistics at the bottom of the page. If you look just under that, you will see when the last time that statistics were reset, so the usage shown is since that date until the current date. Under each of the Apps listed it will display the amount of cellular data used by that app over that period of time.</div><div></div><div></div><div>What do you mean the problem is the application? Your carrier cannot provide you with detailed information on what applications use what data, just like you cannot see where your mail comes from or goes to. It is a data transfer and all they can log is the amount of data used. At least the phone can provide a listing of how much data a particular app uses. That gives you an idea of what applications to watch.</div><div></div><div></div><div>There used to be an official Apple page where you could check the phone's Activation Lock Status, but it was summarily removed cause the miscreants were somehow abusing the feature. So anything mentioning that page is outdated and of historical nature. If you're in a face-to-face with the seller, just watch them carry out each of the steps listed on top here (can skip #2 if they don't want): What to do before selling or giving away your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support</div><div></div><div></div><div>I will always suggest buying any Apple product from Apple's website, an Apple Store, a Apple Authorized Reseller or someone trustworthy such as a family member. With this you know what you are getting.</div><div></div><div></div><div>You can use a service from apple called "Activation Lock". Usually the previous owner of the device will set a lock on their if it is lost or stolen from them. In case if they are selling the phone, they will not be doing that. You can check whether the activation lock is on for a device by just logging into apples find page. Find My iPhone Activation Lock - Apple Support,</div><div></div><div></div><div>Create a permanent link to this IMEI check report.Click "Generate" button, then copy and paste the generated link to your listing on Ebay, Craigslist or anywhere else. This will attract more potential buyers and will help you to sell your device quicker. You are able to hide last digits of IMEI number as well.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Share full IMEI number or hide last digits of the IMEI number if needed. In case you hide digits of the IMEI number, no one can find out the full IMEI. That's why sharing our check report is totally safe.</div><div></div><div></div><div>If you see a question mark next to the sender's name, the message isn't authenticated. When an email isn't authenticated, that means Gmail doesn't know if the message is coming from the person who appears to be sending it. If you see this, be careful about replying or downloading any attachments.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Important: Messages that aren't authenticated aren't necessarily spam. Sometimes authentication doesn't work for real organizations who send mail to big groups, like messages sent to mailing lists.</div><div></div><div> 795a8134c1</div>
