So today I decided to start playing Hexxit, and when I opened it, I was having a blast until I crashed and it said I need to basically add more ram, which ahead and added. I then and went to open my game up again, and it goes to a white screen. So now my launcher isn't using the 64 bit causing it to go white. I went to go look at what my Java was in my control panel and it says that it is 32 bit, but the problem is that i have never download 32 bit java. Can somebody please tell me how do i make 64 bit my default, I've looked now for hrs and I can't figure it out, its always about downloading the most updated java then deleting the old, but the 32 bit java isn't even showing up as an option to delete. BTW i'm using java uninstaller to look for this. And yes my computer is 64 bit.

when you have the Launcher up, click the Launcher Options when you're looking at Modpacks. You should see a Java Tab, click that and check which Java the launcher is referring to. You should be able to click the dropbown arrow to select which java you want the launcher to use

Has anyone been able to get a working MSI file for Java JRE 1.8.0 Update 25 (32-bit)? I tried the recommended methods of running the offline installer, then going to %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\jre1.8.0_25 and grabbing the MSI, as well as trying to grab it from the jdk installation using the same method above. In both cases, there is a msi file, but if I try to run it by itself I get the following error:

NOTE: The Intel Integrated chipset that is found on many notebook, netbook, and other machines has trouble trying to run Alice. Some higher-end Vista machines have also had difficulties. Decreasing hardware acceleration or decreasing color resolution (from 32 bit to 16 bit) has sometimes been helpful. See also the note below on updating video drivers.

We recommend using the .deb installer for the Pi. It will check the system and install java and the required libraries for you and it will add Alice 3 to the general launch menu under development. Follow the directions above to add Java to the Pi. Depending on Pi version follow these additional steps.

For the Raspberry Pi 4 you may need to add an additional library (if you used the .deb installer we will have done this for you). If this is not working correctly you will notice it via certain models including the person builder not functioning (we are working on the best way to integrate this).

Chromebooks with a native Linux Development Environment can run Alice 3. Many schools will not allow students to access the Linux Development Environment and enable GPU Support needed to run Alice 3.

A frequent cause of problems encountered when attempting to run Alice are out-of-date video drivers. This is recognizable when a red-screen occurs in the scene view or the run-time window when the Run button is clicked. See the following link for instructions on updating the video drivers of your machine. Updating Video Drivers

In many cases the majority of the interface has been translated and the difference is due to new gallery assets being added after the localization. I already have Java 1.7.55 installed. The machine in question does not have internet access. I have a web app on this machine that requires java. When accessing this app in firefox, I get a message that says "A plugin is needed to display this content, Install plugin". How do I get the "plugin" without internet access?

You can download Java from a computer that has internet access (presumably the one you are using now since you're responding to me) and transfer it using a USB or even a smartphone put into Media mode to the computer that has no internet access and install it there as all the files are already on the installer.

Maybe I don't understand but I'm trying...The machine that does not have internet access HAS java installed via manual installation from thumb drive. I have install Firefox in the same manor. Now, when hitting the application via IP address in Firefox, I receive the "plugin is needed" message, see image... I installed java before I installed Firefox... if I re-install java does that make this go away? On computers with internet access, the plugin is installed via internet and problem is solved.

That image means that Java is not enabled in the web browser. If Java is already installed but applets do not work, you need to enable Java through your web browser. Follow the below instructions to activate it:

On 64-bit Windows, if you only have the 64-bit version of Java installed, the Java plugin will not be available. Current Firefox releases are 32-bit browsers and you will need to install the 32-bit version of Java.

Choose the offline installer that suits you best. It is important to note that because the majority of browsers are 32-bit, or run in 32-bit mode, they will not be able to utilize a 64-bit. Even if you are running a 64-bit operating system, it is best to deploy the 32-bit.

There are some modifications that should be performed with the Java client in a managed environment. The most important modification is turning off automatic updates. This will prevent your users from receiving messages. It is best/easier to perform this modification in the registry/config files instead of using .mst files or switches in the installer. Here are the steps:

This guide is intended for Java and C++ teams. LabVIEW teams can skip to Installing LabVIEW for FRC (LabVIEW only). Python teams can skip to Python Installation Guide. Additionally, the below tutorial shows Windows 10, but the steps are identical for all operating systems. Notes differentiating operating systems will be shown.

Upgrading from earlier 2024 releases is easy: simply download and run the new installer and it will update your current installation. If you already have the 2024 WPILib vscode installed, it will detect it and you can simply click "next" for that installation step. After installation, vscode will prompt you when opening your robot project whether you want to upgrade it to this version. Note that using the installer is required to get the new version of desktop tools such as Shuffleboard. This release is compatible with both 2024_v2 releases of the RoboRIO image. Mac note: if upgrading from 2024.1.1, it is necessary to manually remove the 2024.1.1 version of AdvantageScope before running the installer in order for the new version to be installed.

System Requirements: WPILib requires 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, Ubuntu 22.04, or macOS 12 or higher. C++ teams should note that Visual Studio 2022 17.9 is required for desktop builds. Mac users will need to have the Xcode Command Line Tools installed before running the installer. This can be done by running xcode-select --install in the Terminal.

If you're returning from a previous season, check out what's new for 2024. You will need a new RoboRIO image for 2024; this is available via the FRC 2024 Game Tools. Follow the WPILib installation guide to install WPILib.

Other installed programs may associate with iso files and the mount option may not appear. If that software does not give the option to mount or extract the iso file, then follow the directions below.

For this release, macOS users will need to have the Xcode Command Line Tools installed before running the installer; we are working on removing this requirement in a future release. This can be done by running xcode-select --install in the Terminal.

You will notice two buttons, Install for this User and Install for all Users. Install for this User only installs it on the current user account, and does not require administrator privileges. However, Install for all Users installs the tools for all system accounts and will require administrator access. Install for all Users is not an option for macOS and Linux.

Selecting this option will bring up a prompt allowing you to select a pre-existing zip file of VS Code that has been downloaded by the installer previously. This option does not let you select an already installed copy of VS Code on your machine.

Visual Studio Code - The supported IDE for 2019 and later robot code development. The offline installer sets up a separate copy of VS Code for WPILib development, even if you already have VS Code on your machine. This is done because some of the settings that make the WPILib setup work may break existing workflows if you use VS Code for other projects.
