hello, i've been looking for a good timer, so far i've found this one to be the overall best. however there is a feature in some other ones i really like i was hoping you could integrate. they have a checkbox to mute the ticking (causing a feeling of urgency) during the break periods so that you can calm down a little and not feel as stressed out on the clock.. then it buzzes as normal when you are done and resumes ticking during the actual non-break period.

thanks in advance for any consideration you give the idea...

Hi,

This is already in the plans, there is already an issue for that (shamefully created 2 years ago): https://github.com/ccidral/tomighty/issues/25

Thanks for the suggestion though  :)

Almost a year is gone. Don't believe it's so hard to add one more setting for mute ticking sound during the break.
Please do it.

Hi Peter,

I'm sorry that you're disappointed at the slow (or zero) progress, I completely understand that.  However, keep in mind that Tomighty is a nonprofit project which means I don't make any money out of it except for the donations which so far barely made up for half the hours I devoted to this project.  And believe me, even for a simple timer, it takes time, and it took a significant amount of hours of my spare time to carefully craft this app to make it look beautiful, simple and easy to use to others, not to mention the time needed to keep the code clean and maintainable, the time spent on the website, answering questions on this mailing list, managing issues, planning versions, fixing OS specific bugs, etc.

That being said, I'm not slowing down for the lack of donations.  The truth is, life in my country is not easy.  To have a reasonably good life, I work 8.8 hours a day for my employer, five days a week, plus do freelance projects at night to earn some extra money, which means I've been overwhelmed since who knows when.  Whatever spare time I have I spend with my family or studying/learning new stuff.

Tomighty is my favorite project, but unfortunately it has the lowest priority in my list at this moment.  I really wish I could devote more time to this project.  But hey, this is an open source project, anyone is welcome to submit patches.

My best regards,
Célio Cidral Jr
