Hey there,

I love this little tool and recommend it to everyone but unfortunately it seems to have stopped working with the latest Java update.

It's showing me the error - "This application requires a Java Runtime Environment 1.5.0".

I've tried updating Java again, as well as updating Tomighty again, with no success.

Is there a fix?

Thanks!

Evan

Hi Evan,

Other users also had this problem in the past.  I don't remember exactly what the solution is, so I recommend you to search through this mailing list for an answer.  I will also search Google for a solution.

Best wishes,

Célio

Hi Celio,

Thanks very much for getting back to me. I had already tried searching through this Google Group as well as on Google in general for an answer but had not been able to find a solution. I just searched again and still can't find a solution unfortunately.

The closest I have been able to find is this thread - https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/tomighty/v4WRheTU6L4 - which doesn't actually provide a solution; it just says that a newer version of Java fixed it.

I'm running the latest version of Java - version 7 update 17 on a Windows 7 machine.

Thanks again for your help.

Best regards,

Evan

According to my search results, certain Java updates caused this error in the past and then further updates have fixed it.  That's very frustrating.

We have some options though:

1) Fallback to a previous Java version.  This is not recommended due to security concerns.
2) Wait for a new Java update that fixes this problem, but that's quite inconvenient.
3) You can build Tomighty in your machine, but that requires some technical knowledge.
4) If you trust me, I can build Tomighty for you here in my machine and then send the package to you.

Hi Celio,

I do trust you, so I think that option 4 sounds like a great idea if you would be willing to do this.

I normally use Tomighty all day, every day, so I'm missing it a lot.

Best regards,

Evan

HI!

4) If you trust me, I can build Tomighty for you here in my machine and then send the package to you.

Can you send it to me too?

Thanks a lot!
