A friend was opening my port side sliding window and the trim part
that you pull on came off. I am not sure what to use to secure the
trim to the glass. Does anyone know what I should use?

Is there a certain type I should use? Will silicone actually make the metal stick to the glass?

Hi John,

I've seen clear marine silicon (due algae inhibitors in the product). However, I'm not sure that is best. If you're in Seattle, call Hy-Lite Mirror and Glass over on Stoneway to see what they recommend. (206) 632-5505 They seem to supply a great deal of marine replacement glass to the boat yards and may have a good recommendation. Also, the auto glass installers use a product that might be better.

Best,

I don't know either. But if you google "Glue to glass" I'd bet you'll get a million answers.

I had the same thing happen on my '76. I used a piece of rescue tape to put it back on and problem was solved. You can buy it online. Just Google rescue tape.

I used regular silicone sealant.  I worked in my case.
