I have a 34' tolly tri-cabin and I am removing the circulating toilet and replacing it with a new toilet. I am looking for some advice in flooring as I will be removing the carpet in the head, also what toilet others have had success with and what size holding tanks they installed? Any information will help.

Hi Roland,

I finished redesigning and upgrading the entire waste system in my Tolly 26 Sedan.  I relocated the waste tank under the cabin floor and installed a new Raritan "Sea Elegance" macerating toilet.  I'm not sure that was my best decision and perhaps I should have just reused the Raritan "Sea Era" installed by the previous owners.  FWIW, that head is in like-new condition and I am looking to sell it.  I have a lot of pictures and lots of things to share, but most of the words/guidance are still in my head and not written down.  I also have a lot of photos, which I tried to upload just now, but for some reason can't get to the computer on my network that is holding those files.  But I have sequential pics of opening up the cabin floor, installing the tank, toilet, plumbing and some fairly cool before-and-after pics.  Let me know what you would like to see.  I am planning on telling this whole story in detail before too long, but right now I am really trying to focus on getting Symphony back in the water.  She's been in my driveway for four years while I work a complete upgrade including new engine, trans, fuel tanks, waste sys, frig, water heater, electronics, etc.

This is probably way too late for you but we replaced the carpet in our 40 Tricabin heads with Lonseal teak and holly pattern.  It looks great, is easy to work with, and is waterproof.  Rather than glue it down I edged it with teak base strips in our aft head.  If I have to pull it up it can easily be done.   It lies absolutely flat without the glue.  This is a pic of the forward head, no teak edging here (yet) and it still is flat over the former wet head floor.  Bill

This is an addition to my earlier post regarding the cabin floor and waste system redesign on my Tolly 26.  Below is  a link to a folder I organized, with photos hopefully playing in sequence.  Please let me know if this doesn't work.
