Can anyone offer advice on rebuilding a Wagner Hydraulic Steering Pump that is leaking.
Have a 26', Finnegan with upper and lower helms that are leaking hydraulic oil. Purchased repair kits and ab out to try and tackle job.
Thanks for any input.

Moisture had gotten into the upper unit and rusted some of the components. Also the steering ram on the rudder had become pitted. I chased parts all over and tried to rebuild the upper helm. Finally  I bought a new Sea Star steering pump from Fisheries Supply. Drop it in, all fittings matched up and life is good. Had to replace the steering ram also.
From what  I have been able to find out many of the hydraulic companies were in the Vancouver area. They have all merged and most of the new and better components fit. This could be Wagner, Hydronic, Sea Star.
Hope this helps
