I am having a hard time finding the right level for fluid in my v drive. I have 1975 26’ baby.
The dip stick has a mark for the correct level when hot. My first question is should the level be above or below that mark when cold?
Last year, I over filled the v drive a bit and had fluid puking out the dip stick tube into the bilge. I removed a fairly small amount of fluid with a syringe Maybe a cup and a half. Now the fluid level is at the hot line when cold and at the bottom of the dip stick when I run the engine up to temperature at the dock.
My goal is to make a mark on the dipstick for the proper level when cold. The old manual is not very helpful. I’d appreciate any comments
Don.
