Hi all!
I just wanted to take a minute and introduce myself.
My name is Rick Shafer and I am a new member. I purchased my Tolly, MV No Plans, in September last year. She is a 1965 Voyager 27. She has been re-powered with a MercCruiser 350 and has had all her electrical systems replaced. As a retired electrician I truly appreciated the quality of the electrical work that was done on the craft.
I live in University Place which is a suburb of Tacoma. I have been a resident of Tacoma since the early 1960s and grew up fishing and boating in the South Sound. I retired in 2019 just prior to COVID in order to provide full time care for my disable son, Bradley, who lives with me. Beyond that I have a 9-yr old Great Pyranees named Finn who weighs in at 140 lbs. I also have a beagle named Lucy and a sometimes resident former barn cat who has no need for a name other than 'that damned cat!'. I have a small flock of backyard chickens too.
I spend my spare time doing restorations on motorcycles. I ride a custom bike that I truly love and am always down for a day trip. I have owned wood boats int he past, both ChrisCrafts. I had a 28' and a monster of a 55' tri cabin that spent all of its time on the beach. I love my Tolly and look forward to meeting as many of you as possible in Oct for the mini-cruise.
MV No Plans berths at the Port Orchard Marina, slip B-51. Feel free to drop by and if I'm not there just leave a note.
Thanks!
Rick
