Does anyone know the manufacturer and model number for the OEM windlass on a 1978-vintage Tolly 48?  I can find no such data on the outside of mine, nor is any documentation to be found still aboard.  Specifically, I'm trying to locate maintenance requirements, hoist strength, and motor size (current draw at stall) info.

Regards,

Pete

Hi Pete,
I have a 1978 37 that came with a 9-A Plath windlass. I am not sure what came standard on the 48, but if is similar to yours, it was manufactured by RC Plath in Oregon. Their web site link is below.

To all that have replied-thanks!  The various responses have not all appeared on this thread, perhaps because some of the responders have chosen to send me private email instead of replying to the forum.

Yup, the windlass on my 78 Tolly 48 is a Plath #9.  Thanks to all that pointed me that way.  I've yet to contact the company for more info, as most of what I needed are on their website.

Thanks again,

Pete
