Would appreciate a reference contact for boat Insurance / or brokers for '89 30' Sport cruiser?

When you read the policy---BOATUS has a very restrictive policy to preclude travel on the inside passage.
It basically discourages boating there.
Thanks, Steve

Hi Steve,

I have NOT finished this yet and I'm not sure how expensive it's going to be, but after asking around I received a recommendation to contact Hagerty as they will insure my boat for what I have into her.  Right now I have Pemco and the policy isn't horrible, but they will only cover their perceived value for a '83 Tolly 26 Sedan which is $18,000.00... ridiculous because I have $60k into her now and have about another $10k to go.  This does not match my concept of insurance.

I talked to BOATUS and my opinion is that they are beyond ridiculous... SO many things I found disturbing.  This is a great discussion to have on the web as the companies who are offering the best service and policies need to be identified, and the others should flagged for their flaws.

Hi Steve,

Contact Dean Lentgis at Insurances Services at 425-775-6446.  They've insured our boat for 20 years.  He's a fellow boater and understands our issues.  Good guy who will give you an honest opinion.

Dave
