Yes. Most of the marinas in Florida have been rebuilt to the new GFCI standard for the same reasons. I have a1988 44, CPMY. I had a good marine electrician on board for 2 days chasing gremlins. Found a bunch. Old wiring, bad connections, even some home style wire nuts. But sense then no worries. I guess you just got tried get it cleaned up. The new rules are not going away. Plus your zincs may last longer.
