I am considering adding a stern thruster to our 26’ Tollycraft we purchased last October and  am interested in any feedback on doing that. I have seen one at sideshift.com that looks like it would do the job.

I put sideshift stern and bow thrusters on a Tricabin 40 last year.  Very happy with them.

We had a stern thruster (and bow thruster) on our 26’ when we bought it and it was great. However, when we repowered it, the stern thruster was in the way and had to be removed. Something to keep in mind unless yours has already been repowered.

You might consider a water thruster. See jetthruster.com as an example. Installation should be much simpler.
