Please note that it takes three "pages" to get all the posts to this
topic. I posted an important message yesterday and you have to go to
the "newer" end to see it. It gives some details of the seminar
(=conference) including the cost, which is imho unreasonably high,
unless they're going to put on an impressive lunch (which I don't want
in any case). I'm considering my options. Anyone want to present my
paper?

This here is a Melburnite...Yep Jeff!
I might be tempted to attend such a (SEMINAR)...errrrr   conference..........for the one (and only) day say....if (IF!) we (TH) held our own (one) day earlier this Annum......What say?.......
Now I happen to know that David is v keen to host same......but I won't barge into that excepting that I already have done so.....
Wot do you say to my original proposition Ted?
Michael ?David?
Peter?.....hummmmmmmm
Love from Jeffrey Brian Lynch...( don't just sit there .....write something!)

Ted,

I would be surprised if they don't at least offer a discount for
contributers! The main reason for me attending would be to see you
present your paper so I hope that still happens.

It makes the Tol Harndor Seminar look like a steal....which it was
actually.

Jeff - yes if you come up we should definitely meet up before or after
for a TH moot of sorts.

Hi Michael. I'll get in touch with them and find out when they've
scheduled mine. I guess I'd better go on that day. Maybe the $60
includes a sumptuous lunch and morning and afternoon teas. That was
the deal with "Fantastic Fictions" in 2002.

Having said that, I'm pretty sure that the participants got in free.

It's a Grand weekend in more ways than one. I can be available on
Saturday but Sunday is no good for me....well actually it is good but
for different reasons. It is Merrie's birthday on the 28th and this
will occupy my thoughts and actions. So maybe a Friday or Saturday
evening? What say you?

Hmm ... my birthday is on the Thursday before this conference/seminar/
whatever. However I'll probably postpone it. Anyway, 65 is no big
deal, except that I think certain health benefits will then be
available free or cheaper.

The word was "postpone", Jeff. I'll have to postpone our 33-1/3
wedding anniversary too because Ros has the 'flu.

There was a time (16 century I believe) when they were moving from the
Julian into the Gregorian calendar that ten days were lost. Any poor
suck born on those days must have had their birthdays cancelled.

Speaking of anniversaries - do you know what it is tomorrow?

No news re the meeting yet, Jeff. Those guys are really laid back! The
website where the info was to be posted "soon" still has no events
post 2007 mentioned. I wrote to Chris Hartney soon after the
announcement but have not had a reply. Hell's bells! It's only 2 weeks
to go!

Her? I assumed it was a he. However there should be no doubt about the
email address.

Wait a bit! The first letter I got was from

Dr Christopher Hartney
Editor, The Journal of Religious History
Lecturer, Studies in Religions
School of Letters, Arts and Media
The University of Sydney

Chtistopher. A bloke, I presume.

Fif you write to <chris....@usyd.edu.au> ?

>errr are your sure that it 's on Ted?

I've been assured it's on and they're now asking for money. That's all
I know.

I wondered about that. I don't intend to pay up just yet.

Gentlemen!

I am returned.

Unfortunately, I will probably miss Ted's talk as I have to attend a
case at Concord in the morning. However, after that I will be free and
can meet up with you guys. If time is kind to me (if the surgeon is
quick!) I may yet make the talk. This is my aim.

I will make my way over to you as soon as I can.

Will any of you have a mobile phone on your person?

Mine is 0406420751.

Michael
