I've created the new Tol Harndor mail list and with a few more key
strokes will have updated the membership list.
I am subscribing all the current members of the googlegroups list (all
have posted this year):
Ted, Michael, Jeff, Christine, Elise, Peter, Graham & myself
I have also sent emails out to an additional 6 people who were members
in the past (post 2005) and who'se addresses I have in my TH mail list
archives (Jennifer, Alison, Marie, Paul, Wade & Faith). Only one address
returned as invalid (Faith's). I've invited them all to contact me for
subscribing to the new list.
Everyone on the googlegroups list should shortly receive a welcome email
for the new list .. all going well (fingers crossed). If you have NOT
received anything by the end of Saturday (whatever time zone), please
email me direct (not via any list) at either dra...@roots-boots.net or
roots...@hotmail.com and I will look into it. If the whole thing dies
on me, I'll know very soon and will post to this list.
If it works, I will post a test email shortly.
Administrative details:
* The address for the new list is "li...@tolharndor.org" (without the
quotes, of course).
* There is currently a size limit of 200K on the text of all posts (not
including attachments). I can adjust this if needed.
* Attachments are allowed, depending on the file type. Common types are
permitted (doc, zip, rtf, pdf, images). Executable file types are
blocked. If viruses become an issue, I will also block zip files
(viruses often arrive as zip's).
* At the moment I am the administrator (there is only one) and also the
only moderator. I can add others as moderators, at request. Moderators
will be issued with a password to access what they need to moderate.
* The list will be archived, although at the moment I have no idea where
... I assume it'll be in the welcome email. :)
cheers,
David
