No idea. I have 19 people in my old TH address book. Lucky if half dozen
have posted in the last 12 months???!!

The greatest tragedy that could overcome a country would be for it
to fight a successful war in defence of liberty and to lose its
own liberty in the process" - Robert Menzies
Pity hopes that we could all get together didn't pan out .. well also
those of us who had to work on the friday.
If one of those fortunate enuf to attend to seminar/conference/wotevea
would like to write a review for Tilkal, that'd be wonderful. No offence
Jeff, but I'd like to see someone other than you do it - because
everything I have in the pile for the next issue is by you. But if
no-one else is willing and/or able to do the job, then feel free!!!
And a note to everyone ... it's your eZine .. send something in!!!!
ANYTHING!!!! It doesn't have to be Tolkien related. Doesn't even have to
be fantasy or even fiction. And it can be anything that's in electronic
form or can be converted into an electronic form. If someone wants to
submit a piece of recorded music for inclusion in the next issue, send
an mp3 (or whatever). As long as you're a member of TH, you can submit
anything. Non-members can also submit stuff or have it submitted on
their behalf, however inclusion there is dependent on a number of
factors (free space, nature of the submission etc - preferably at least
Tolkien or fantasy).

I can't work out why it would do that (the email be rejected). When you
reply to my post to the list your reply is going to the list and then to
me, not to me directly. Unless you were trying to email me directly?
I did get the text of your paper that was posted to the list a few days
ago .. so it got thru'. Is that the one that was rejected .. or was
there something else???
If you're having trouble emailing me directly at
<dra...@roots-boots.net> then use my hotmail address ...
<roots...@hotmail.com>.

Added to the Tilkal pile. Looks like the next issue is going to be a
100% Jeff special .. unless I dig up a foto or two of my own. Sighhhh...
Oh, wait, I've got Ted's article.
cheers,
David

I'm here ... honest. Either that or this is a figment of your
imagination. :)

What was the error message?
This is weird! Replying to the list it should make no difference at all
who you are replying to since you are replying to the list not an
individual.
Is anyone else getting rejected posts to the list? Rejected, not "gone
missing"?

David

As a PS to this ...
I'm getting email from other gmail accounts, so it's not that gmail
doesn't like my address - either cuz it's blocked cuz of a word trigger
(likely "root") or cuz I use a floating IP mail server.
Getting desperate .. ASSUMING NO ONE ELSE HAS PROBLEMS REPLYING TO MY
POSTS HERE AND I CAN ONLY SPEAK FOR JEFF THERE .. the only thing I can
think of is that when you hit reply, your email software is replacing my
email address with an old address of mine and the list is rejecting it
.. no, that'd not work ... it'd only reject it if your address wasn't
valid. As far as the list is concerned, it is irrelevant who'se post you
are replying to since the correspondence is between you and the list,
which makes it bewildering that you can reply to others but not me.
There's just no obvious reason.
Well when you reply to me, reply to both the list and directly to me ..
that way at least I will get the reply.
cheers,
David
