Hi,

for a project I am looking into getting some machining tools which
allow us to be a bit more independent from toolshops.
mini-lathe, mini-mill, etc.
but maybe something like a 3D printer or CNC stuff too.

I know there are plenty commcerial devices and some are awesome.
However, I did not had time to look with detail into this.
Does someone here as a favourite tool he bought or would buy.
E.g. I remember on the last maker fair there was some sort of CNC-mill
for rather appealing price.

Most of the time those tools would be used to either modify parts or
to create adapters, holders, connectors to put different stuff
together.
Another task would be prototyping before we might give tasks into toolshops.

This is for a offical project. I guess I can't go the DIY ways
(Repraps, etc), I would need some commercial available product and a
company who can send me quote.

I would highly appreciate any input.

Hey,

I am surprised. Nobody of you has a
"If-I-ever-have-enough-money-I-would-get-this"-tool in mind?
I am looking for all stuff which enables me to shorten product cycle
for (mostly) 3D objects.
CNC-mill, 3D printer, etc. Only requirement would be that it is
order-able in some way (not a DIY kit, etc.)

Yes, I would get a semi automatic hydraulic termination crimper, conveyor
belt reflow oven, larger capacity pick and place, semi automatic stencil
printer, and CNC for milling standard enclosures. But not really into 3D at
the moment.

Ohhh you are so lowly...
I thought you ask for an entire 22nm CMOS line, the necessary
packaging line as well as the required hundred people of stuff.
I was hoping to get a first 32-core ARM-based FreakChip by end of 2013....
