Hi all,

just was looking into getting a stock of aluminium profiles for prototyping.
It seems there are currently three different systems available.

Does someone here has experience with some of them already?

Beside technical pros and cons, I am concerned about the availability now and in the future. Would be kind of bad to spend several hundred dollars on one system and see it dying some months later.

Any ideas, infos and thoughts are welcome.

Thanks

Totti

8020 is pretty standard for extruded aluminum beam. There is a good list of links of different types of extruded aluminum beams at the reprap wiki too:

Hi Akiba,

thanks for the feedback.
I think I found a source for a similar extruded aluminum 20x20mm. 20x20 seems the smallest "standard" size of the conventional manufactures.
In addtion I was wondering if someone played with the 10x10 or 15x15mm versions.

Thanks and Greetings

Totti
