I am hopeless with development, but I have high hopes

I have embedded tokbox onto my blog:
http://languagestuff.blogspot.com/p/tokbox.html
I believe that it is working okay, I just put it up this this
afternoon and
have spent the rest of the afternoon trying to figure out how I might
be
able to customize the script so as to make it appear more
personalized. I
am interested in a number of available functional additions noted on
the
Tokbox site, but I am absolutely hopeless with code stuff and totally
overwhelmed by the amount of literature and so on. It is obviously way
over
my head and digging deeper into it is only going to prove to be a
waste of
my time.

I am wondering if there is a sample script that I might possibly copy
and
modify by adding my own API and API Secret code. I imagine things may
not
be this simple or the alternative would have been readily available on
the
Tokbox site.

If not, is there any way that you might be aware of seeking out
reliable
assistance at a reasonable fee to achieve what I am hoping to do?

I have pasted my current embedded script below for reference.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Eric

Eric,

Which of the functions on the call widget embed page (http://code.google.com/p/tokboxapi/wiki/CallWidget) are you hoping to take advantage of?

Thanks.

Hi, thank you for getting back to me.

Well, right now, what I've got, is a tokbox on my site, which seems to work as it should.  However, I am wondering to begin with, how to add my API code as well as to understand the significance of it, and the secret code, and what advantages there might be to implementing these strings to the script.  Essentially, I would like to get the most out of Tokbox as I am able to.  I would like to be able to use it from my site, have it recognize me as opposed to an anonymous guess as is the current case, and be able to display a record of users who belong to the community that I am setting up.  Those are the main issues, I suppose; it would also be nice to be able to customize the size of the text/chat box and take advantage of any other features that might be most effective for my purposes.

I am intrigued by tokbox, but I do not know how to manipulate/where to place the strings of code, in fact, I am not even sure of the limits of possibility with tokbox.

I don't have days to spend trying to learn how to program the thing (and probably wouldn't be able to understand the language anyway), but I would like to simply be able to copy a fully-functioning script to embed to my website.  I am not sure what developers charge, but I am open to negotiations as I do not see any other means to the end.

That's all.  No drama.  From what I've been reading, I believe that tokbox can be more effective and user-friendly for me than what is currently being displayed on:  http://languagestuff.blogspot.com/p/tokbox.html and I am looking for a way to take advantage of this without spending days to learn how to learn about things that I have no clue about to begin with.

If you can point me in the right direction, I would be truly grateful.

Sincerely,

Eric

Eric,

What you want to do is beyond the scope of a copy and paste script. At this point, I would start by looking at the options available to you on the call widget embed's information page found at

http://code.google.com/p/tokboxapi/wiki/CallWidget

You can essentially customize the top chrome bar, and some of the window options that show up in the video box.

That said, the more customized functionality such as user integration is something you'll have to do with a developer. It's possible with the Call Widget API, but it isn't as simple as copy/paste unfortunately. I hope that this helps you moving in the right direction.
