Hi,

We installed Tokbox but we had to uninstall it because our users were
experiencing 2 majors problems :

- Sometimes, their screens were freezing (100% CPU used....). They had
to reboot their computer from scratch...
- Impossible to get the sound working...Even if they refreshed the
connection or click on the wrench icon to change their settings....

These are the 2 majors problems. We will be very excited to use Tokbox
again, but only if these 2 pb are fixed....

I also have 2 suggestions :

- Only 10% of our users saw the text chat....I suggest a "send
message" button or an icon (a pen?), than show it is a free writing
chat area...
- it is usefull when you speak in your mike to have a bar mooving, so
that you are sure that the mike is working....otherwise, you don't
know !

Best,
Thierry ENGEL

Thierry,

Thanks for the feedback. We've actually invested quite a bit of time in solving these problems in our OpenTok API. Have you tried the OpenTok API (http://www.tokbox.com/opentok)?

Please let me know if OpenTok fits your needs.

Best.

Hi Melih,

Thanks for your answer. We would really love to use your techno, but
these 2 pbs (screen freezing and audi detection) have to be solved
firsthand.

Not possible to solve them with TokBox Call Widget API ? We used
TokBox Call Widget API ...

The only solution is to use Opentok API ? Are you sure these 2 pbs do
not exist with Opentok API ?

Thanks !

I won't ever say that software is 100% guaranteed to work, but I do know that we've built OpenTok on top of the lessons
we learned from the Call Widget API, and as a result that issues like crashing, A/V quality and flexibility were top concerns
as we built and launched the new code.

I do hope that you'll try out OpenTok.

Hi Melih,

Thank you for your answer. Screen freezing, and audio/mike detection
were not isolated cases (It happened 20% of the cases I would say, out
of 200 lessons). Yes, we are willing to give a try to Opentok. From
what I understand, you don't work on Call Widget API anymore, so there
is no hope these isseus will be fixed with Call Widget API...

Thierry,

It's definitely fair to say that your best option is to move to OpenTok.
