Diesel,

Couple of quick questions.

1) Have you set the name of the users, or did it just work before?

2) Are your users also TokBox users?

3) Have you cleared your flash cookies recently?

Also, as a quick side note, questions about the call widget embed should live in the Call Widget group which can be found here:

Thanks.

Hello Melih,

1) Their Usernames had functioned to show up in TokBox Chat for a long
time.

2) All the Users are registered Members of TokBox.com.

3) I've deleted the hundreds of Flash Cookies from 2 places. Users on
the Video Chat still show up as Guest Users. It seems like the coding
at TokBox (accessed via the embedded Chat Room) isn't accessing the
individual TokBox Users accounts when they're online, whether they
have their me.tokbox.com page open or not. Must be a solution, since
it had always worked properly in the past.

Thanks for Responding,
Diesel

Diesel,

Thanks for moving the conversation over to the appropriate list. Clearing the cookies is the reason that the names are no longer appearing. The only reason
that the names appeared in the first place is because people were logged into their me.tokbox.com accounts.

If you have a way to know what a person's name is, then you can tell the embed the name, and it will set their name.

Otherwise, the users have to be logged into Tokbox.com to have their names show up properly.

I hope that this makes sense, and if it doesn't then let me know and I'll try to explain it again.

Hello Melih,

We've experimented with people logging into TokBox and in a new
browser coming into the embedded TokBox. They still show up as Guest
Users with a lot of numbers after Gest User. Those numbers are only
temporary and change upon re-entering the Chat Room. The stand alone
version of TokBox Video Chat adds the proper User Names. It's just in
the embed that it no longer functions replacing Guest User with their
proper User Name. I've tried adding newly generated embed code, but
still the same effect happens.

Need a solution yet to fix the problem. I think it's an error in the
coding at TokBox itself. Things worked fine up until the January 18
update.

Diesel,

Unfortunately we don't have cycles right now to investigate this problem. The best way to set the name for a user in the embed is to use the:

displayName

flashvar. If you don't have users/names, then being logged into TokBox should work. If you have anyone in your group who uses the debug
version of Flash, and could send us their flashlog.txt file offlist, then we could look at that as well.

Regards.
