CORRECTION: WE DO PLAY TODAY AT BROADMEAD

Just got this update from the league organizer... he forgot to include a team in the playoffs, which means we have no bye today and instead play on the Broadmead field (softball diamond on the corner of Western Way and Harrison St near campus). Apologies for all of the conflicting information.

O The Humanity!!  I forgot about Leviathan.  That significantly changes the Consolation playoffs.  Now there is only one Bye (Olden Street).  Everyone else plays today.  11 games!

Dear Summer Softballers...

Playoffs Start Today.  Everyone is scheduled to play in one of the 3 scheduled flight.  (Although 3 have byes)

Seedings were determined as described below.  The Championship games are still scheduled for Friday of next week as we discussed in our meeting in April; however, if it becomes difficult for teams to field players and the weather cooperates (so as to minimize double headers) I reserve the right to move the Championships and the picnic up one day to Thursday July 27.

Dear PU Summer Softballers:

Playoffs start next Wednesday (July 19) with the Championship games scheduled for FRIDAY, July 28 as we agreed during our organizational meeting  last April.

This allows us to have a rain date and not have double headers unless we have many rainouts during the ensuing 1.5 weeks. If the weather holds we will have an open date on Thursday July 27.  If that open date holds and the weather forecast for Friday July 27 is really bad on the evening of Wednesday July 25 I may move up  he championship games to Thursday, July 27 so that we can play and have the end of year picnic without going into the next week.

With respect to the playoffs I'd like to propose that we have 3 simultaneous double elimination flights:

A: involving the top 8 finishers in the A Division

B: involving the top 8 finishers in the B Division

C: (Consolation Flight) involving all of the remaining teams from both the A & B Divisions

Seedings will be based on

1.  Wins reported to the scoring system by 9pm on Tuesday July 18

2.  Win percentage among those tied

3.  Head-to-head wins

4.  Head-to-head sum of runs

5.  Pick name out of hat by me
