Dear Past Recommendation Provider, We hope that you will once again encourage your students or mentees to enter the Intel Science Talent Search this year. Entrants can earn $1,000 for their school in addition to individual awards up to $100,000. Thank you for your support of these young scientists! Intel Science Talent Search 2014 Application Now Open The Intel Science Talent Search (Intel STS), a program of Society for Science & the Public, is the nation’s most prestigious pre-college science competition, providing an important forum for original student research. Alumni have made extraordinary contributions to science and hold more than 100 of the world’s most distinguished science and math honors, including the Nobel Prize. Annually, more than 1,700 high school seniors from around the country conduct independent science, math or engineering research and complete an entry for the Intel STS. The Intel STS recognizes 300 student semifinalists and their schools by awarding each $1,000. Forty student finalists are then invited to Washington, D.C. to participate in final judging, display their work to the public, and meet with notable scientists and government leaders. Each year, Intel STS semifinalists and finalists compete for $1.25 million in awards, with a top award of $100,000. Please visit our website to learn more about the program and to view the application. Adults should use the last name “Test” when opening an account. Better Know a High School To recognize the important role that educators and schools play in students' decisions to enter the Intel STS, SSP would like to periodically feature schools in our blog. This opportunity is open to both veteran schools and those who have recently become involved with Intel STS. If you have an interesting story you would like to see highlighted in our blog, contact us for more information. Sincerely, Caitlin Sullivan To keep up with the latest on Intel STS, Intel ISEF, Broadcom MASTERS, the Science News family of publications, alumni updates, and more, sign up to receive SSP's monthly e-newsletter. |
