1) In the intial template selection screen is it better to have
a) blank white boxes with "YOUR PICTURE HERE"
b) a quick snapshot of the person sotheir face
shows uo in all of the white boxes for images
I think they will get confused and think they
are done
c) Images of "Models"
d) Some icons that indicate a face?

2) During the event, do you normally have to access the desktop or
other comouter functions. When the printer runs out of paper, or
toner.

3) I need some dimensions

Oops, hit the wrong button-
What size are the images in the 3, 4, 6 layout
How what are the side, top, bottom between image
margins

What is the size and margins as listed above, including the gutter for
the standard photo strip.

Thanks

I think that an image of models would look much more professional and
if not, then something that resembles a face.

As for accessing the desktop, i do because of printing paper issues.
Unless there was a way that the program itself could let. Know when
your out of paper so your not having to go back and forth between the
program and the desktop.

What do u mean by "you need dimensions"? Of what? :)

I agree with other posts, a modeled picture would look best. Im sure
there are some "stock" photobooth pictures on the internet. I dont
think they need to see a snapshot of themselves in the small boxes,
this would be difficult to have them line up for a pre snapped photo
before getting ready for the photos.. If all else fails I would use
icons of some sort.

For the desk top - If the program had a "full screen" button and
worked like alot of other programs that in full screen mode you just
hit the escape button and the program shrinks but holds its place,
then could minimize if needed and then click "full screen" again to go
back to work!

Not sure about the dimensions...

See my new post about the dimensions.

Does anyone have stock or other quality photos they can send me. I would think we need at least 4 of each group.  Thanks.  Clearly they need to be images with model releases.  I will talk to the programmer about allowing each of us to load images in the future.  I need them in jpg

So these are my thoughts - ya'll tell me if you agree.

As a practical matter, we will only have a maximum of 3 templates on the screen at one time.  Generally we will be doing a layout with 3, 4 or 6 images.  The program as it is will allow us to set up a template with any number of images from 1 to 10.  So I am thinking I need 3 groups of photos.  I think it will be better to have each template display the same group of people in different poses

This is my wish list

2 of the groups to have 4 images
1 of the groups to have 10 image
1 group to be teenagers
1 group to be young professional
1 group to be adults
1 group of more sophisticated images, not so goofy 4 images

I would think we would want a bit of an ethnic mix.

I will ask the programmer to allow us to select the groups of images  we want to show up so we can adjust it for the audience if we like.
I will also ask him to allow up to change out the images.  We may not have that feature this round.

Many of you have more experince than I do, so if you think all different images would be better, or quite frankly if that is what available at this time, then let's go with the individual images.  The higher the resolution the better for the display.

Thanks you

Here is a great suggestion made by someone in the gorup, if we cannot get the images quickly with model releases, we can use silhouette images.   That is why I love this group!!  There are so many great ideas!!

BTW - I was told the other day that I tend to write my e-mails in a rather abrupt manner (not somone here).  I am sorry if anyone percieves them that way.  I tend to treat them as part of an ongoing conversation.  To me part of e-mailing is getting to the point quickly.  Anyway, if I ever come off as abrupt or demanding, I do not mean it that way.

I really like the Silhouette idea! It would fit great in every
application (in my opinion)!

I like silhouette.

If you are going with the menu of templates... is this going to be per
each session or will it be able to be turned off per an event? By
giving the user more formats to select, technically you lower your
costs by saving paper since they waste more time per a session making
decisions lowering your hourly print count range. Currently, we do a
single layout per an event with wired arcade buttons to select between
color and black/white.

With our setup, the printer/program pop a box to indicate that the
paper or ink need to be replaced. We then reload and hit reset on both
printer and program. In full screen mode, this does not require
minimize or leave program.
