bismillah. gmail integration has to be one of the best features of
todoist.com.
here's a way to make the todoist items you create more relevant and
useful:
1. when you click on the bookmark that integrates the e-mail you were
reading with
todoist.com, you'll see something like this in your
dialog box "[[gmail=string-of-numbers-and-letters@gmail, e-mail-
subject-line -
your-go...@gmail.com]]."
2. leave this alone: "gmail=string-of-numbers-and-letters@gmail" --
that's how
todoist.com knows which e-mail you've linked.
3. change this as much as you want: "e-mail-subject-line - your-google-
i...@gmail.com" -- this part of the string does not affect the link to
your e-mail at all. why change it? suppose i got an e-mail from my
friend, and i only want to create a todoist item to remind me to
respond on a certain date. i could change this text to "reply to
Ahmed's evite" or any other relevant text.
4. add tags and chaining (if you are going to create a recurrent
todoist item). just add your tag or !chain instruction after the
close brackets.
here's an example:
original: [[gmail=string-of-numbers-and-letters@gmail, e-mail-subject-
line -
your-go...@gmail.com]]
more useful: [[gmail=string-of-numbers-and-letters@gmail, reply to
Ahmed's evite]] @study-biology
