Hi there

The 'delegate to Todoist' bookmark seems to work OK and it seems to
store the correct email ID in Todoist, but trying to edit the email
from Todoist results in this error message:

"Server error

Sorry, you've reached a login page for a domain that isn't using
Google Apps. Please check the web address and try again."

The address bar has a weird URL (to my eyes):

https://www.google.com/a/googlemail.com/ServiceLogin?service=mail&passive=true&rm=false&continue=https%3A%2F%2Fmail.google.com%2Fa%2Fgooglemail.com%2F%3Ffs%3D1%26tf%3D1%26source%3Datom%26view%3Dcv%26search%3Dall%26shva%3D1%26th%3D1198a5f90decb933&ltmpl=default&ltmplcache=2

as an example.

It's not a huge deal as I can always bookmark emails in GCal, but it
might have been a nice feature. One other thing. I have my GMail email
address appended to the end to end of the entry in Todoist in version
2 of GMail but it doesn't happen if I use version 1. Just thought I'd
mention it. Here is an example (GMail version 2):

[[gmail=1198a5f9...@googlemail.com, Test email for TODOIST -
isit1...@googlemail.com]]

whereas with version 1 I get this:

[[gmail=1198a5f9...@googlemail.com, Test email for TODOIST]]

You still get the same error when you try to edit the email from
ToDoist with version 1 of GMail, so I guess it's nothing to do with
versions of GMail.

Cheers

Kevin

bismillah. hello kevin. could you clarify what you mean by "edit the
mail from todoist"? do you mean edit the link that is part of the
todoist task, or do you mean edit the content of the e-mail itself
(which is stored at google)?

if the former, then using one of the examples you pasted:
> [[gmail=1198a5f90decb...@googlemail.com, Test email for TODOIST -
> isit1984...@googlemail.com]]
there are three regions in this entry. regions is just my
description: (1) there is the region outside the brackets -- you can
do anything you want here, add more text, add !chain, etc. (2) there
is the region within the brackets that starts at the subject line of
the e-mail and ends with the close brackets -- you can change this,
too, and that will affect only the text of your link in the todoist
task.
(3) there is the region within the brackets from the open bracket
until the comma before the subject line -- LEAVE THIS ALONE -- messing
with this will almost certainly lead to errors.

if you meant the latter, then either two scenarios must be happening
in my opinion:
(1) the gmail basic client opens but does not display the e-mail you
had linked to. -- there are a few reasons why this might happen, and
one was discussed in an earlier bug report. if you created the
todoist link after searching for an e-mail in gmail, then the link may/
will not be created properly. once the underlying reason was
identified, the todoist developers announced here that an upcoming fix
was coming. but it may or may not have been released yet.
(2) the gmail client opens and does display the e-mail. in this case
i have no idea what is the matter. any problem seems like it would be
a gmail problem and not a todoist one.

hope there was something in there that was of help to you!

Hi AbuAbdAllah

Thanks for the reply. I meant the latter - I cannot edit the email by
clicking on the link in ToDoist. It generates a Google Server Error.
To me, it looks like the address created by ToDoist is wrong. Not the
entry showing in the ToDoist task, rather the address generated by
ToDoist Ajax when you click on the link. Hope that is clear(er) :-)

Cheers

bismillah. my guess is that you are right. (you wrote) "it looks like
the address created by ToDoist is wrong."

do you experience this problem with each and every task created by the
"delegate to todoist" bookmark?

if so, please do this: describe in detail every step you do from the
time you open your browser. (1) please note the name and version of
the browser. (2) please note whether you access gmail by typing
gmail.com into the address line (and whether your browser fills in a
longer address) or via a bookmark -- if you can copy and paste the URL
of the bookmark, please do so. (3) please open the first e-mail
listed in your browser -- run no searches, and do not click on any
gmail labels, etc. (4) make sure todoist is also open, then use the
"delegate to todoist" bookmark. (5) create the task. (6) now close
gmail and try the todoist task/link you just made.

please make note of everything that you do in these 6 steps, and
everything you observe. i am assuming that when you reach the end of
(6) above that the link will not have worked. as they say, the devil
is in the details. and i am hoping we can find him somewhere in the
details you provide.
