Joseph told his story to Erastus Holmes:"…I received the first visitation of Angels which was when I was about 14 years old…"("The Personal Writings of Joseph Smith", p.113, Also in "An American Prophet's Record", p. 59)
This account has been changed in the "History of the Church", Vol.2, p.312.. It now reads "my first vision" instead of "visitation of angels." (2)

"[George Q. Cannon] felt that some investigation should be had of the conduct of [Apostle Moses] Thatcher & [Seventy B. H.] Roberts before they receive any ecclesiastical appointments in the Church. Pres. Snow said he could not fellowship them until they made things right, nor could any of the Quorum do so. It was decided to leave any investigation of their affairs until after Statehood, as trouble might otherwise ensue because of the exercise of church discipline." (3)
