Presidet Young ... had 3 teeth extracted one a sound one through a mistake.
I spent the evening in his office. He said I hope that Abel Lincoln was Elected Presidet of the United States yesterday & that the South meet in Convention & nominate Breckenride to day to be the presidet of the South but I am afraid they will not have pluck enough to do it. (2)

Quorum of the Twelve excommunicates Apostle Albert Carrington "for the crimes of lewd and lascivious conduct and adultery" with several women dating back to 1871. This is the first time since 1842 that a general authority is excommunicated for sexual misconduct, and its publication on 10 Nov. stuns the community. (3)

[Heber J. Grant]
In the evening at 7 P.M. attended a meeting of our quorum in Prest John Taylor's office, same persons present as last evening Carrington excepted. Our meeting this evening was for the purpose of investigating the conduct and actions of Counselor John W. Young, some of his financial moves failing that he had neglected the duties of his calling in his efforts to make money Never in my life have I heard my brethren speak with more of the power of God than they did tonight. Especially powerful were the remarks of Bro Brigham Young [Jr]. If ever man spake by the power of God brother Brigham did tonight. Brigham called upon his brother to step into line or it was inevitable that he must lose his standing with his brethren and finally in the Church. Told him he had set up his own judgement & followed his own counsels in opposition to that of his own father and of his brethren, that there was not a spark of humility in his nature & warned him that tonight was his last chance and the
turning place in his life. (4)
