John Murdock reported that upon being baptized, "the spirit of the Lord sensibly attended the ministration, and I came out of the water rejoicing and singing praises to God [possibly singing in tongues] and the Lamb." (1)

.. . . thus saith the the Lord unto my Servant Joseph concerning my servant Warren [Parish], behold his sins are forgiven him ... behold it shall come to pass in his day that he shall great things shew forth themselves unto my people, he shall see much of my ancient records, and shall know of hiden things, and shall be endowed with a knowledge of hiden languages, and if he desires and Shall seek it at my hand, he shall be privileged with writing much of my word, as a scribe unto me for the benefit of my people, therefore this shall be his calling until I shall order it otherwise in my wisdom and it shall be said of him in a time to come, behold Warren the Lords Scribe, for the Lords Seer whom he hath appointed in Israel (2)

The Times and Seasons publishes Eliza R. Snow's poem, "My Father in Heaven." Now the most famous LDS hymn written by a woman, it proposes a Heavenly Mother equal in status to a male consort. General's 1843 revelation on the new and everlasting covenant of marriage declared that when a couple's marriage is sealed by the Holy Spirit: "then shall they be gods, because they have all power, and the angels are subject unto them," implying the same. [Patriarchal Blessing of James E. Talmage]
Brother James, by virtue of the Holy Priesthood, I place my hands upon thy head, and seal the blessings of the New and Everlasting Covenant upon thee, with all the gifts and privileges promised unto the sons of Zion ... it is thy privilege and the will of the Lord that you should become a mighty man in Israel, and travel much for the gospel's sake, and assist in gathering the honest in heart from among the nations of the earth; ... for the spirit of the Lord shall direct thy course, strengthen thy memory and give thee power over thy enemies and peace shall be in thy circle... thy guardian angel will whisper in thy ear and warn thee of danger, and give thee power over the adversary, and prolong thy days and years upon the earth. ... Thou shalt also be prospered in the labor of thy hands, therefore, look forward to the future with pleasure, for thy last days shall be thy best days. ... (4)

[George Albert Smith]
Arthur [Haycock] brought up Dr. Thomas C. Romney and I talked to him about the book he intends to write about President Snow at the request of Le Roy Snow. I cautioned Brother Romney that there were some things I did not think fitting to have in the book. Brother Romney understands the situation. (5)
