I am developing my custom video control using jquery , javascript. for that i choose js flv player without any control bar,so I almost developed its control bar and all the option using its listner javascript object, but now there is no full screen method in that js flv player.

The best player to use would be videojs. Really flexible. I have used it in one of my projects and i would recommend this for you. Got a full screen option by default. Uses js and no flash needed at all.

if you want to launch VLC player when FF try to show any .FLV content :
goto Tools>Options>Content>Manage.
Look for .FLV file type entry , if you find any , select it > Change
action > Open them with this application.if no such entry there , goto file > open files.
firefox will ask to choose a helper application , browse and select .exe
file of vlc player. and check 'do automatically...' option also

Nir, you lost me with the instructions above.
There was no FLV entry in TOOLS, OPTIONS, CONTENT, MANAGE.
I then went to FF main menu, FILE, OPEN FILE ... but it did not appear
that was where you wanted me to go. Guess I need a little more help!Why do you think the plugins for FF are not being installed by VLC?
How is FF launching the flash player when no FLV filetype is listed?This is really perplexing.Thanks for helping!

'application/x-shockwave-flash'
which is not supported by VLC , supported by Flash player ( and Quick
Time ).when you see video on metacafe or youtube those video files are actually
'application/x-shockwave-flash' handled by flash player
but when you download them using any extension , it is usually saved as
.FLV which can be played by VLC.

These are all fantastic tools, but they are not quite helping me out. I am a beginner at web development and have been trying to use different free tools to post videos to a number of different sites. That is where I found DropShots and Jumpcut - two services that allow you to upload video and have it stream.

The problem I am having is that I just want to generate code for my website that when launched or executed, the video will play on-demand and stream, rather than download and play. The website is hosted by Yahoo Small Business.

So, my question is, how to do somehow either use my .avi, .flv or .swf files and add to my webserver; then navigate to that page and have a video player waiting for me. When I click Play it should stream the video rather than download it.

Is there any other way to do this without buying more software? I would really just like to upload my flv or swf files to my web server and then use HTML code to open a flash player to play/stream my video.

I play flv files using a free FLV player I found somewhere online, simply put the following HTML on your page changing the size and replacing videlocation with the location of your flv file.
