I like Bomb Fight quite a bit, so I've been working for some time on
making a map of my own. I've got one good enough to ship off... I call
it "Battle Lines."

Backstory:
The Fire Friends stumble across a Cloud Kids settlement. Quickly
erecting structures to protect their flag, the fiendish Friends go to
war with the Cloud Kids! Notice how the Cloud Kids' smooth, flowing
lines contrast with the Fire Friends' hastily thrown together
fortifications.

Concerns:
Too many blocks?
Bombs respawn too fast?
Too crowded?
Guard points need to be adjusted? (The games seem to move awfully
fast...)
Perhaps it should be 3v3 or 4v4 instead of 5v5?

I had to keep adding more and more clear spaces, removing the fort-/
maze-like design, in order for the bots to move properly. I do
believe, after countless revisions, that it is quite playable. It
seems as if it would be more fun in multiplayer, though.

Includes install instructions and a nice little screenshot for the
level select bits.

To install: Extract the ZIP file to your Toblo\Levels directory, then
follow the instructions in "How to install.txt"

Feedback is always appreciated. If anyone wants to modify the source,
go for it. Just give me credit, right?

Hey,
I'm flying out for GDC today, so I'm not going to be able to check out the map until I get back.
I'll let you know how it plays in about 8 days or so =)

Well, Mr. "I'm a fancy independent developer who gets to hang out with
the industry giants because I've gone to a fancy, expensive school and
created a popular, free game that people actually want to play because
it rocks."

I await your evaluation. =P

Cool!
It is incredibly claustrophobic... We definitely don't have any levels like that. Also, I found it interesting that I usually only win if I play a more defensive game and let my bots go out and play offense. Every time I play offense I lose pretty quickly.

Yeah, I learned far too late in the map's design that my sense of the
proper scale for the map didn't mesh with Toblo's code. You can bet my
next map won't be like that!

I've decided that Battle Lines fits the intended design scheme fairly
well, but Toblo is much more exciting with smaller, open maps.
