to Gmail Request Feature
This feature request was presented by numerous users in last years.
Gmail and google account login does not have timeout feature. If one
forgets to logout anyone can read his emails, change password and ever
recover password I guess.
Imagine if that would be policy used by your online bank. If you close
browser and forget to logout anyone that comes next can take your all
money (gmail does not use additional security tokens so its just like
that). Email account is sometimes more important than account in the
bank. You can use email password recovery in most accounts over the
internet. There are services where losing control over password means
destroying you business, years of hard work, more money that you have
at the time and loosing whole live I guess. All this is possible if
you forget to click one button after reading mail in one of many times
you read email every day.
All this could be simply fixed by giving a user easy way to set cookie
expiration date when logging into google. Every other webmail has
timeout feature. Almost every other service on the internet does. Is
email really something so unimportant?
