Kinh Huynh Trưởng
Lạy Chúa Giêsu Huynh Trưởng Tối Cao
Xin dạy con biết hy sinh cao thượng
Phụng sự Chúa và giúp ích mọi người
Xin dạy con biết hy sinh không cần báo đáp
Luôn xông pha không ngại bão táp
Đẹp ý Cha trên trời trong tình thương yêu hết mọi người.
Huynh Trưởng Creed
Dear Jesus, our supreme youth leader
Please teach us how to sacrifice nobly,
Serving God and helping others.
Please teach us how to sacrifice without asking for returns,
Always to devote with no fear of stormy life.
(literally “always to rush forward, not feared of the whirling storms)
Pleasing our heavenly Father in the name of love for everyone.

Nghĩa Sĩ Ca
Vietnamese Lyrics:
1. Vui ca lên Nghĩa sĩ đời đầy diễm phúc, hồn thanh xuân say niềm lý tưởng cao xa.
Vì Nghĩa ra đi là đi Chinh Phục, đường xa bóng Chúa đang chờ đợi ta.
Một đời trẻ trung thành nồng hậu sức thiêng, hùng dũng trung thành một dạ
trung kiên.
Tình bằng hữu chân thành một dạ vững kiên, tôn quý trách nhiệm sống gương hy sinh.
2. Nghĩa Sĩ Việt Nam sẵn sàng hùng tráng, trong sạch hăng hái và quyết tiến bước.
Lửa thần nung nấu tâm can không ngừng, mầm thiêng ta gieo khắp nơi xa gần.
Lý tưởng siêu nhiên thành tâm yêu mến, danh Cha cả sáng, nước Cha trị đến.
Noi gương nhiệt thành của Thánh Phaolô, xông pha lên đường làm chứng Phúc Âm.
English Translation:
Nghĩa Sĩ Theme Song
Joyfully we Nghia Si sing since our lives are full of happiness and our passionate youthful souls are devoted to highest ideals. For good deeds, we are set forth to overcome and conquer. On the long road, God always wait for us. Blessed with Holy Spirit, bravely we live our faith without faltering. Our friendship is earnest and strong. We respect our responsibilities and ready to sacrifice.
Vietnamese Nghia Si are willing, courageous, pure, and determined. Our yearning hearts are burning with eternal flame of Holy Spirit. We are ready to spread the seeds of Good News to (everyone) far and near. We truthfully love our spiritual ideals. O
God, Hallowed be Thy Name, Thy Kingdom come. Following St. Paul’s zeal, we overcome all to be witnesses of God’s Love.

Mười Điều Tâm Niệm TNTT
The Ten Principles and Foundations of a Eucharistic Youth Life
This song is set in metric lines so that one can easily remember the spirit of TNTT.
I will try to give a rough translation/paraphrase and commentary. The underlined word is the key characters of a Eucharistic Youth
A) Number #1-4 sets out the 4 principles of TNTT
1) Thiếu Nhi mỗi sáng dâng ngày,
Điểm tô đời sống hương bay nguyện cầu.
A Eucharistic Youth begins the day with morning offerings;
His/her life is enhanced by the fragrance of prayer.
(Meaning: Prayer is at the root of TN’s activities)
2) Thiếu Nhi Thánh Thể nhiệm mầu,
Tôn sùng, Rước lễ, Nhà Chầu viếng thăm.
A Eucharistic Youth venerates the Blessed Sacrament;
He/she does it by adoration, receiving communion, visiting the Tabernacle
(Meaning: He/she should be attentive at Mass and frequent receiving of the sacraments, so that he/she can be united with Jesus)
3) Thiếu Nhi Thánh Giá Chúa nằm,
Nhìn lên phấn khởi chuyên cần hy sinh.
A Eucharistic Youth looks up to Jesus on the cross,
So that he/she can emulate Him in wholehearted self-giving [sacrifice]
(Meaning: He/she looks at the life and death of Jesus as example of the total love and self-giving of God. The crucified Jesus is a model for discipleship)
4) Thiếu Nhi nhờ mẹ đinh ninh,
Quyết làm gương sáng xứng danh tông đồ.
A Eucharistic Youth by the sponsorship of our Blessed Mother,
He/she is committed to be lights for others through apostolic services
(Meaning: He/she sets example for others by doing the “apostolic” services: activities that will build up the church and society to be a better place. Note: “apostle” literarily means “one who is sent (by God)” to do His works, the work of charity, justice, peace, etc…)
B) Numbers #5-10 spells out the attitudes one should have to make Numbers #1-4 achievable
5) Thiếu Nhi mọi việc nhỏ to,
Tinh thần vâng phục chuyên lo đặm đà.
A Eucharistic Youth is faithful in small and big tasks;
He/she sets examples in obedience and responsibility
(Meaning: He/she should be faithful and accountable for the tasks given by his/her leader. Note: “obedience” etymologically means “listening”, that means, for the sake of the community, one is willing to give up one’s own individualism in favor of the communal decision.)
6) Thiếu Nhi đằm thắm nết na,
Noi năng hành động nọn nà trắng trong.
A Eucharistic Youth is calm and virtuous;
He/she guides his/her speech and actions with a pure heart [purity]
(Meaning: His/her orientation toward good and avoidance of evil should be reflected in his/her speech and actions: living a moral life)
7) Thiếu Nhi bác ái một lòng,
Tim luôn quảng đại mới mong giúp người.
A Eucharistic Youth is filled with charity;
He/she should be generous in helping others
(Meaning: The motivation behind apostolic service is love/charity, without it one cannot really do meaningful apostolic works. See also 1 Corinthians, chapter 13, the Song of Charity)
8) Thiếu Nhi ngay thẳng trọn đời,
Nói làm đúng mực người người tin yêu.
A Eucharistic Youth maintains honesty in his/her life;
This is reflected in his/her speech and actions that others can trust and love him/her
(Meaning: Honesty will earn trust from others)
9) Thiếu Nhi dù khó trăm chiều,
Chu toàn bổn phận mọi điều chăm chuyên.
A Eucharistic Youth is not afraid of challenges and obstacles
He/she is faithful in completing his/her assignments with diligence
(Meaning: Faithfulness will help one to achieve the goal. Mother Teresa of Calcutta says that “the Christian life consists of being faithful, not successful”, that will get one ahead in time of failure and despair)
10) Thiếu Nhi thực hiện hoa thiêng,
Chép ghi mỗi tối, cộng biên mỗi tuần.
A Eucharistic Youth offers to God the “spiritual flower bouquet”
By faithfully recording the daily and weekly the spiritual and apostolic activities
(Meaning: Doing the “spiritual flower bouquet” is living the “Eucharistic Day” in concrete actions. That means the spirits of prayers, sacraments, sacrifices, and services permeate the life of an Eucharistic youth in daily activities).
