Well, here
we are at the end of the season and we have a team of success stories to
tell. The most recent stories to add to our book are the successes of our
35 riders who completed Seattle to Portland's 204 mile bike ride in either one
or two days. Isn't that incredible? All finished with a smile across
their faces, a sense of accomplishment, and enough energy to single handedly
close down the dance floor in Portland, it was an awesome event.
As a team
this season, we raised a whopping total of $398,460 to go towards the cause and
furthering our mission. You'll remember that our goal was $350,000!
Those funds will undoubtedly provide hope to so many Northern California
families and will bring us one step closer to a cure, doesn't that feel
good? Currently there are 61 active grants in force in California alone,
with a vast majority of them coming from Stanford, UC Berkley and UCSF.
These are exciting times in the world of cancer research and the strides we are
making are, in large part due, to your efforts- THANK YOU!
I am
confident that we can reach the $400,000 mark as you continue to send in any
donations you receive. Just think if each person raises $15.71 more, we'll
do it! That's exciting!
It has been
a complete honor to work with each of you this season. Thank you for your
spirit, your energy, your sweat, your fundraising, and your dedication to make a
difference- you are an inspiration and should feel great about all you have
accomplished both in the saddle and out.
If you are
looking for an excuse to get back on your bike with the team, we are gearing up
to start our Fall Season, where we will train for El Tour de Tucson, taking
place on November 17th. This season is assured to be a great time, I
encourage you to join us! (Registration forms are attached- no pressure
=)
Looking
forward to seeing you soon!
With
Respect,
