My name is Jeff Muralt and I am a teacher and basketball coach at Wilcox HS in Santa Clara, as well as a regular at the 8:30 service. A fellow coach, Ron "Spot" Pardini, has had his leukemia rear its ugly head again after being in remission for almost two years. This Monday, May 21st, Wilcox will be hosting a bone marrow donor registration in the high school's multi-purpose room
from 2 to 6 pm.
Registering to become a donor is simple, come in, fill out the paperwork, and give a small cheek cell swab. Due to limited funding, this process--and the testing--usually costs $52 per donor! But this Monday at Wilcox, the procedure will be free, yes, that's right, absolutely FREE! Sorry for making it sound like an info-mercial, but I couldn't resist. Bone marrow transplants are one of most successful treatments for leukemia, but many more people are needed on the donor registration, especially people of ethnicity.
This could be the way that you save someone's life.
Please join me at Wilcox on Monday from 2 to 6pm, this Monday, May 21st. Feel free to pass this on to others.
From Westgate: travel north on Lawrence Expressway, go over El Camino and take a right on Monroe ST--the school will be on your right, past the Performing Arts Center.
