Dear sir,
I have some doubts regarding medico legal aspects in case of cluster endophthalmitis.
Is the case sheet a fool proof evidence? It is possible to change the entire case sheet once if we anticipate some problem. Also we can do something but write something else. When this is so how to take it as a proof? Unless it is audiovisual recording, which is not practical.

Changing gloves for every case is not practiced in many centres. Many of us use RL for phaco.

What is the procedure they follow before granting permission to conduct camps?
Do they ensure all measures to prevent infection before granting permission?

Could they find and prove the source of infection? There are so many uncertainties in medical practice. It is all like natural disasters.

We are almost certain that those doctors did what most of us are doing. If so how to justify the punishment imposed on them?

Paying compensation is ok. Do you think imprisoment is justified?
Before each one of us become expert surgeons some eyes were lost due to complications. If we take them into account there will be thousands of eyes which became blind.  Should we stop training new doctors? Then who will operate if we our children develop cataract?

Please reply when you find time.
Thank you.
