Also information on when the new John Grisham book is released is very
welcome.
Thanks
Thomas Hardy: Tess of the Du'rbervilles (I think I got that right)
If you want poverty and hardship try
Victor Hugo: Les Miserables
Either way, both of these books are great and should be read.
Brett.
BTW, on Grisham, I have enjoyed his earlier movies but hated the
predicatable
'Ginger Bread man'. I dont usually read modern authors, but I have a copy of
'The Partner' at home. Would you recommend that I read this?

Hello,
I'm Chrissie, and an avid admirer of Thomas Hardy.
Would anybody like to discus his life and works?
I consider him to be THE greatest, and one of the most enegmatic writers, in
English Literature.
His greatest nove, in my opinion is: "The Major of Casterbridge".
But why did he allow Michael Henchard to die?
An enegmatic question!
I have my own theories regarding the death of Michael Henchard, but would be
most interested to learn of other Thomas Hardy admirers pionts of view,
regarding Henchard's death.
Chrissie.
