If anybody knows how to obtain an original edition of Bierce's "Civil War
Stories" I would really appreciate if they gave me a hint. My only source at
present is the net, which is not a valid bibliographical suupport.

Hello everybody,
I am a student of English Filology from Poland. I'm writing MA thesis whose
subjest is 'Narrative strategies in Ambrose Bierce's fiction'.

So far I have managed to find quite a large number of resources. Still, any
help would be truly welcome.

Internet links, bibliography, anything.

Thanks everybody in advance for any help.

One comment I found in Wikipedia is "Bierce has been criticized by his
contemporaries and later scholars for deliberately pursuing
improbability and for his penchant toward "trick endings".[34]

Evidently, Bierce and all his immediate family are buried in unmarked
graves, and his disappearance(s) in Mexico are macabre.

Maybe you could look at the characteristics of "newspaper comedians"
that flourished in the U.S. Far West during his time as a newspaper
man.
