nickname issue

[marco Starglider]

hi,

i'm an independent game developer on the pc. my current game
is almost finished, and i will publish it as shareware,
on a commercial basis.

as a programmer i use 'nicks' (nicknames), and i want to
put my current nick in my game credits. the nick is:
'Starglider'.

my question:
there used to be 2 games with that particular name (by Firebird or something
on the
atari ST and the Amiga and maybe the pc).

is it legally sound/allowed for me to do this?

or is it a copyright breach?
