Test Engineer
The Test Engineer is responsible for providing product design and
engineering support to Production and Engineering. In this role the
Test Engineer will write test applications, conduct product testing,
develop and deliver test cases. In addition, the Test Engineer will
diagnose processes, problems and implement solutions. Responsibilities
• Understanding of system and application testing cycle. • The
majority of the day-to-day activities would include working with our
primary scripting languages like TCL/Expect and develop automated
scripts using advanced programming skills. • Ensure accuracy of test
procedure and processes • Writing test applications • Conduct product
testing • Training of production test technicians in use of test
procedures and equipment • Develop test beds/setup ups for production
use.
Requirements • Minimum 5 years working experience working in the
Telecommunications or computer networking industry as a test engineer.
• Strong testing background in all phases of circuit boards and
assembly processes. • Strong written communication and documentation
background in testing procedures • Developing test process • Strong
understanding of computer networking protocols • Scripting experience
in a production environment a plus. • Good understanding of one or
more scripting languages (TCL/TK, Python, Perl, Expect.) • Skilled in
Linux & Windows 2000/XP, skilled in the use of Word, Excel and
PowerPoint. • Experience with configuration and operation of routers
(Cisco, Juniper, Foundry, etc.) • Video experience is a plus. • Strong
testing methodology experience including test planning, test
reporting, bug management and overall product life cycle. • Excellent
written and oral communications skills, ability to work in a team
environment. • BA in Computer Science or related field required
