Actually.. Get yourself or someone you care for some toys.. Last year my
fiance got me a cool radio controlled car.. But I guess us 20-somethings
are still kids... Especially us male 20-somethings... :)
Oh.. And speaking of "where is everyone", a few posters should be
getting their
first wave of "spam" that their posts to the group will generate. And
soon,
this group will be seen as a "fairly active group ripe for spamming".
Call
me a pessimist...
Until soon.

I can't speak for everyone, but I have been busy trying to get ready for
the big event. Christams sales!!!! I went out yesterday and was quite
unsuccessful. I still have more than half of the list left. Today I
was putting up lights on the house. Bad idea to put lights on your
gutters in the rain. We live and learn.
Every year I insist on putting up lights on the house and every year it
rains when I am ready to do it.
I have also discovered Christmas shopping isn't nearly as fun as when I
was shopping for a bunch of kids. They are all teens and "pre-teens"
now and no one wants toys:( Everyone wants clothes. I think it ought
to be a law that children have to receive and enjoy toys until they are
21.
My thoughts,
Mary
I want to say hi to all.
I am new to this computer stuff!
hope I get back here again,
Drew
The problem is that all the people I buy toys for are 25 and up. I
personally have more actual toys at my office than my daughter does in
her room. It's just not as much fun anymore.
Also this year we have agreed to sleep in until 9am on Christmas
morning. Gone are the 5am gasps from a child going through her
stocking. One year we gave her som pesos in her stocking and she woke
us up screaming that Santa had left 4000.00 dollars.
I still love Christmas, I just miss having the magic that goes with at
child at Christmas.
Mary - Someone who enjoys believing in magic.
Well, there still can be some magic. Just have to switch gears. When me
and my sisters reached the "beyond Santa" age, we got to stay up with
our parents Christmas eve and open presents (and put out presents for
whichever "child" was left). Along with that, we'd have "adult" food (my
dad makes escargot every year. Along with the deviled eggs topped with
caviar) and maybe a couple drinks (nothing hard). It's just a small
switchover from the excitement of a child to the warmth of having a good
time with family...
Also something else to think about.. Probably won't be too long before
there are grandchildren to spoil... :)

I'm 25 and haven't played with toys in years...I just don't understand
the widespread propogation of this myth that 20 somethings never grow
up. We (as an age group) carry more responsibility at this age than most
of our parents did in their fortys....why, I would much rather have
clothes than toys as a gift anyda.....ooops..sorry...I'll have to finish
this thought later! One of my friends just came back from Blockbuster
with a cool new video game I haven't gotten to play yet!=A1

Again, I am in my 30's and have more toys in my office than my daughter
has in her room. I play with my toys, they are not just for looks. I
am very responsible and make it look like my toys are necessary to my
position.
I have a GREAT fondness for the Tick. He stands for everything good and
helps me make decisions concerning good and evil. Push puppets are
great too. They keep me from being over concerned with menial things
that come up.
Did you enjoy the video?

Uhh... hahahahahahahhahahahahahahahah
Anyway... Here's a good one. About two months ago my fiance got an
E-mail from Lego telling her that she was a winner in their "Build a
Duck" contest (go to their web site. They pick winnders each month). She
was supposed to get a rather cool submarine kit (working neumatics,
motor, etc). Worth about $30-$40 (we've been pricing them).
Well, two days ago she got a letter from Lego. As it turns out, they did
not send her the submarine kit as promised (pout). Instead they sent her
a catalog and a $100 Lego gift certificate. Even better! Now we can get
all the cool pieces we've been needing (road plates, people, semi, boat,
the usual). =
Our goal is to have this special room that our kids can not enter until
they "come of age". When they do, they will be shown mommy and daddy's
special room. The Lego Room (choir chord in the background.. ouaaaahhhh)
