I've just been reading Chris Martenson's "Crash Course" website. I think it's the most complete account I've read yet of how our economy works, what money really is, and why it's teetering on the brink of collapse. I recommend it if you're interested in such things.

It's set up as a series of videos, but each page also has the full text of the video, so generally I found it quicker to read the text.
