macOS 10.14.6
Alacritty 0.41 (most recent stable release, I think)

I am having problems with TMux on macOS. The first time I installed it, using Homebrew, it seemed to work, and any difficulties I had was down to my lack of understanding of it. I then reinstalled TMux using Hoebrew again, but this time, for example, the C-B C shortcut did not work. Other signs of odd behaviour were that the backspace key no longer operated as normal, producing instead space characters, and also, when I type `exit` from the opening TMux session, rather than closing and returning to the parent shell, TMux just hangs,

I then ran `brew remove tux` followed by `brew install tux` 3 more times but the same problems persisted.

I thed removed TMux once more and then reinstalled from Version Control as per https://github.com/tmux/tmux. Still the same problems occurred.

The log files were generated with the config file disabled.

Thanks in advance for ant guidance you can give me!

Cheers,

Did you restart tmux entirely ("tmux kill-server") and start a new
alacritty terminal when you updated?

Thanks for the reply. The problems persisted until my Mac just spontaneously rebooted. Since then, everything seems okay! Whatever the problem was must have been at a sufficiently low level (and yes, I did run `tmux kill-server` a couple of times) to really foul things up!

Incidentally, I’ve discovered a couple of tools which complement TMux nicely. I’m sure the knowledgeable denizens of this list know this already, but in case not…
1. Is https://www.byobu.org/home, a really easy-to-use textual front end to TMux with ridiculously intuitive keystrokes.
2. Is https://github.com/jarun/nnn, a really fast text file manager in the style of Ranger but even faster.
Both are available across a range of platforms. I’m using them both on macOS. `brew install byobu` and `brew install nnn` is all you need to do!
